With cold and flu season in full effect, we want to arm you with a recipe to combat those germs and bugs away. This month’s Tastemakers Club Box was full of all the ingredients to make an immunity-boosting detox tea perfect for this sniffly season.
This detox tea is full of superfoods, like lemon and ginger. You can even boost it with turmeric, cinnamon sticks or cayenne pepper.
Check out some of the incredible health benefits this homemade tea offers:
- Ginger: helps with detoxification, is anti-inflammatory and also adds a spicy kick
- Lemon: aids digestion, supports your liver, rich in vitamin C
- Turmeric: nutrient dense and an anti-inflammatory
- Cinnamon: antibacterial, balances blood sugar, and is rich in calcium
Instructions
In a medium saucepot, add 2 cups water, 2” sliced ginger, 1-2 nubs of turmeric, juice of 1/2 a lemon, a pinch of cayenne pepper
Bring to a simmer and keep on low for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly, then strain and enjoy warm. Store leftover tea in the refrigerator.
